In year 5 we have been looking at film narrative in our Literacy lessons. We worked in mixed groups to tell stories without any words through drama.

Peter Dickinson’s Problem Solving and Reasoning Club
Children from St. Cecilia’s joined some of our Year 5 children to attend Peter Dickinson’s Problem Solving and Reasoning Club. The children spent the afternoon being challenged to improve their fluency, problem solving and reasoning skills by exploring a range of mathematical problems. There are seven sessions altogether and the children are loving it!!!

Last Thursday we used our baking skills to make some delicious cookies to sell at our ‘Cake, coffee and Pink Day’ on Friday. We were doing this to raise lots of money for Macmillan and Cafod. The whole school managed to raise a fantastic £1153.80.

Our current PE topic is Basketball. We are practising dribbling, passing and shooting. We are not quite at Olympic standard yet, but we are getting there!
