Nursery Language Box Therapy

Dear Nursery Parents,

We are fortunate to be working with Laura from Language box therapy for the next few weeks.  She is working with the children and staff in nursery providing training, hints and tips to promote speech and language development for our children.  She has kindly offered to spend some time providing hints and tips for at home for any parents and families who would like some ideas on promoting language at home and overcoming any speech difficulties children may have.

If you would like to talk to Laura she will be holding a drop in on Tuesday 3rd March from 9-9:30.  Please complete the slip below and pass it in to nursery if you would like to attend this session.

Thank you for your continued support.

World Book Day Letter

Dear Parents/Carers,

World Book Day on Thursday 5th March

This year we will not be dressing up as a book character for World Book Day on 5th March 2020.

We are mindful of how stressful and costly it is to buy and make costumes for your families, which takes away from the purpose of the day to encourage reading for pleasure.

Instead, we would like the children to create a book character out of a potato, which will be a relatively cheap alternative. The children who have seen the examples love the idea and are already planning the character they wish to make.

There are numerous examples on Pinterest.

Thank you for your continued support,

Mrs Walsh

Reading Bingo Challenge Letter

Dear Parents/Carers

Reading Bingo Challenge

We are taking part in a ‘Reading Bingo Challenge’ to encourage the children to read for pleasure.  The competition will close on 5th March (World Book Day).

There are 14 different coloured football shirts on the bingo challenge card.  For every 5 goals (5 books) a pupil scores (reads) our school will be entered to win an activity day or resources from Everton in the Community such as glow in the dark dodgeballs or a day of football coaching for the school.

Children will be entered into a prize draw for bringing in photographs of the most adventurous place they have read in and those who have tried to complete the most challenges.

Your child’s bingo card must be returned to their teacher on 5th March where it will then be sent to the organisers for the prize draws.

This is a super fun challenge for all ages to enjoy.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs L Hindley
Literacy Coordinator

Everton vs Liverpool Women’s Letter

Dear Parents / Guardians,

As I am sure you are aware, school has close links with Everton Football Club. They have kindly provided the school with complementary tickets for Sunday 9th February Women’s Derby due to take place at Goodison Park. On this date a parent will need to accompany their child to the football match and stay with them for the duration of the game. Everton vs Liverpool will kick off at 2pm.

Unfortunately, we only have 10 sets of tickets (ie 1 child, 1 adult), names will be entered into a draw. Please complete the slip (attached below) to register your interest and be entered into the draw. Tickets will be drawn on Friday 7th February and parents will be informed. Please only enter the draw if your child has not been to a football match with school in the past.

Yours Sincerely,

Mr J Wall

Colomendy Reminder Letter

Dear Parents / Carers,

I am sure you are aware that our annual residential to Kingswood, Colomendy is fast approaching.

I would just like to remind you that all outstanding balances for the trip are to be handed in via the school office or paid via WeDuc by Friday 28th February.

If for any reason your child no longer requires a place on this trip please notify Miss Hay as soon as possible. We must stress that if all outstanding payments are not received by Friday 28th February then your child will jeopardise their place and in turn will lose their £40 non-refundable deposit.

Thank you for your co-operation and support.
