Good afternoon RF,
I hope you are all keeping safe and enjoying spending so much time with your families. The teachers in reception have been chatting every day to try and think of exciting and fun challenges for you, we hope you have been enjoying them! It has been lovely to see some of your responses on Twitter and WeDuc. I am so proud of how well you are all coping.
Please remember to check the WeDuc app and our twitter feed: @StOswaldsPriLiv for daily updates and lots of suggested activities to keep you busy.
In addition to this, Oxford Reading Tree has a vast library of free e-books for your children to read at home on phone, laptop or tablet. All you have to do is create an account to access these. https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/books/free-ebooks/
Keep in touch through Twitter, WeDuc and we have the email: reception@stoswaldsschool.com if you have any questions or just want to update your teacher with what you have been up to!
I miss you all very very much and cannot wait for us all to be together again. Take care and stay safe. Miss Ford

It would be lovely if you could share some of the fun things you have been doing at home for us all to see! If you haven’t already, please remember to check our school website, WEDUC and Twitter for the daily challenges our Reception teachers are posting to keep you busy! I really look forward to hearing from you all; remember to check out our school website keep up to date and I hope to see you all very soon. Stay safe, Mr Cummings

Hi RJ! I really hope you’re all happy and healthy and trying to make the best of this strange situation! Hopefully you’ve been having a go at some of the activities the reception teachers have been putting on Weduc and having fun with your families. Remember to be extra good for your grown ups at home and keep working on your reading, writing and numbers! I’m sure you’ll have loads of stories of all the ways you’ve kept busy to tell me when we get back! I bet you can guess how I’m keeping myself and my family (and the neighbours!) entertained. Try your best to learn new life skills while at home like tying a shoelace or making a sandwich and remember to keep your bedrooms tidy! Needless to say I’m missing you all and can’t wait to see your smiling faces back in school before too long. Take care and stay safe. Mr Crowther

Hello 1MD,
I hope that you are all keeping well and staying safe? I just wanted to write a short message to you to check that you are taking care of yourselves and your families and are keeping happy and healthy at home.
Why not use this time to learn a new skills, maybe to learn how to tie your shoe laces, tell the time or just to try something new? I would love to hear about something new that you have tried since you have been home so, if you can, please write a letter back as I would love to hear from you all. Let me know what you have enjoyed most about being at home, how your Easter was and did you manage to complete your 40 Acts of Kindness? What was your favourite Act of Kindness?
If you haven’t already, please remember to check our school website, Twitter and WEDUC for daily challenges. On Monday we have a phonics task, Tuesday is English, Thursday is Maths and Friday is a creative challenge. These will help you to show off how much you have learnt in Year 1 already!
Also, it is very important to stay active whilst you are at home. We worked so hard with the Daily Mile this year, so please try to carry that on at home; just 15 minutes per day would be amazing! On Twitter and WEDUC, I have also been posting an Active Challenge for you try in the house with lots of different skills involved. Why not go through them, try them out and I would love it if you posted videos of you completing the challenges so that I can see how you are getting on.
I really look forward to hearing from you all; remember to check out the school Twitter @stoswaldspriliv or my Twitter @MrMosaid to keep up to date and I hope to see you all very soon.
Stay Safe!
Mr Mosaid
Year 6 Update
Hello Year 6,
I hope all of you are well and are managing to stay happy during these lockdown procedures. As you are all old enough to understand, it is important that you help and support your families by doing the right thing and making good choices.
I wanted to write to you all as I know that the way school ended was upsetting and lots of you will be worried about whether you will get to come back to finish the year off properly. The truth is that none of us know this at the moment; if we do get back that will be fantastic and we will make sure the school year finishes with some of the usual goodbyes. If we don’t get back, then we will be inviting you all back for a leaving party and for other get together things when we are allowed to mix again.
Your teachers have been making sure that there is work available for you to make sure you stay on top of your subjects. What I say to those of you who are concerned about school work is that your health and wellbeing is important too. Try to make sure you do some lessons every day, keep reading and completing some maths, the structure will help to manage your day. You also need to keep active, do daily exercise, and use your time doing things you enjoy as well. If you have any worries you can always contact school and we will try our best to help. St Oswald’s has some staff in school every day as it is a Hub but we too have to social distance and work from home.
We have been working with all the secondary schools making sure that they have all the information they need to make your transfer to secondary school as smooth as it can be. But please remember that all children are in the same position so it will all be ok. Try not to worry.
We miss you all and look forward to seeing you again but in the meantime, take care and stay healthy.
Mrs Walsh
